Concept Statement:

Working gives a brief glance at individuals from all strata of employment. Through the highly personal and individual stories we see both the hardship incurred through an occupation, and the pride resulting from job well done. The use of design elements focuses the audience's attention on the individual stories. Through vertical lines and concentric circles, the overall environment carries attention straight to the actor. Other necessary scenic elements are broken down to their essence, giving only as much information as necessary; this results in a light and airy sense of mass. The color and texture of furniture pieces are used to define both the mood of the locale and the tone of the character's speeches.
